The awards and prizes had been given out It was now an hour and forty minutes after the start of the 5K event. With one exception, all the runners and walkers had long before completed the course. Michele, a wheelchair participant, and several who were walking with her to offer support, had just turned at 67th Street. The finish line was now just a couple hundred yards away and well in sight. As she came closer, the band started playing, the small group of about 30 that remained were standing and cheering her on, the finish line clock was still running. Her name and time 1:40:35.7 is now written in stone on the internet. Great job Michele!
