The Downers Grove "Noon" Lions Club, founded in 1926, is the oldest service club in our Village. We proudly reflect on a history of notable achievements.
• Helped fund the Fishel Park Band Shell
• Donated the first gasoline engine powered ambulance to the Village of Downers Grove
• Donated equipment to the Downers Grove Public Library to assist the visually impaired
• Donated toward the purchase of infant screening equipment for Good Samaritan Hospital
• Donated toward the capital needs of the Indian
Boundary YMCA
Helped establish and fund the Downers Grove Park District "Sensory Gardens"
• Was the major contributor to the Clock Tower, located
at the Main Street
Metra Train Station
• Helped fund Santa's House in Downtown every Christmastime
Funded a “signed” performance for hearing impaired children at
the Tivoli Theatre
• Over the years have funded hundreds of eye exams, glasses, as well as hearing exams and aids to the financially needy in the community
