UPCOMING PROGRAMS

The Downers Grove "Noon" Lions Club are your friends, your neighbors, your relatives with an interest in service to our community!

Our club is the oldest community service organization
(founded September 21, 1926) in the Village.

We are caring citizens (residing in Downers Grove and neighboring communities) devoted to pooling our talent, energy and enthusiasm for a common goal – service to our fellow man.

We are "locally focused" and:

• cooperate with area schools to meet the needs of students with visual or hearing impairment.

• provide funds for eye exams, eyeglasses, eye surgery, hearing tests and hearing aids to the needy.

• provide free hearing and diabetic eye screenings.

• host an annual New Teacher’s Luncheon (since 1931) to welcome new
teachers to town.

• hold the annual Halloween Parade in Downtown Downers Grove for over 400 costumed children.

• sponsor the Annual International Lions Peace Poster Art Contest at local middle schools.

• Annual Sponsor of Educational and Fund-Raising Booth "Roasted Corn Sales" at Downers Grove Heritage Festival support Little League Baseball, the YMCA, Boy Scout, Girl Scout troops, and more.

• donate Holiday gifts for the blind and deaf students at Philip Rock School.
